The red LED coming on, indicating that the reset circuit has triggered, is a classic symptom of the power supply being marginal - either not quite up to 3.3V, or current limiting and dropping in voltage as the board tries to boot. The other thing I've seen cause this is an old version of the CPLD code which had a couple of its reset pins mixed up. This would work most of the time, but occasionally reset for no apparent reason. I'd say check the power supply first. > I am trying to get back to a "blank" state, but every time I issue "nand > erasechip", the balloon just sits there (yellow LED next to middle Nand > flash chip (samsung) is on). > > Does this erasure just take plain ages, or is it likely to have hung? The yellow LED indicates the flash chip is being accessed. Erasing the chip does take quite a long time (30-60 seconds or thereabouts). HTH Chris
