It's a rather different approach though - the board _has_ to be plugged into something to be useful, whereas Balloon tries hard to be useful in standalone mode, and only resort to the backplane connector if you want to build a bigger system, or want some oddball hardware of your own. That does mean that the TRITON board is smaller, since it's not scattered with conectors and all the interface support components. There's also the fact that it' not open hardware, so you can't make lots of them yourself, if that's what you're after. It's definitely not going to stop the development of Balloon3 (we had a particularly pointless meeting wit the Intel sales guy yesterday... Sigh) Steve
