Please be aware that 2.6.17's MTD is obsolete, and as of 2.6.18-git, I've posted the patch that allows MTD-YAFFS2 interworking for all known case.

BTW, if you're asking questions wrt ECC handling in MTD code, this is a wrong list. Please direct your questions to linux-mtd@lists.infradead.org.
