Thanks Jean-Loup.

After a bit of fiddling around I was able to apply this. I made a few changes 
to formatting etc.

I did some rudimentary testing (read/write, ls,...) and it seems to work. I'll 
test it with fsx etc.

The changes have been applied to git.
