Hi, 
  I'm pondering the programmable logic for Balloon4. Availability of Xilinx devices seems patchy, and I can't make any sense of Spartan6's rollout or pricing. 
Spartan3A is currently my family of choice, but comments are welcomed. Any Altera / other fans out there? Are there any open toolchains of interest?
