JFI,is correct that the config switch above doesn't do anything?

yaffs2-git$ grep YAFFS_DISABLE_BACKGROUND *
Kconfig_multi:config YAFFS_DISABLE_BACKGROUND

it doesn't depend on anything (apart YAFFS_FS) and isn't used nowhere.
(and at a deeper look also for YAFFS_XATTR is the same)

Is this for some kind of retro-compatibility? is this a bug?
