I have the yaffs now implemented into our uclinux 2.4 distro. I wonder if we
should not put a couple of switches into the kernel config:
USE_GENERIC_RW: How long does the kernel hold the objects in memory until they
are written on the flash. Having a read cache is a nice thing, but a write
cache might cause us some trouble
ENABLE_SHORT_NAMES_IN_RAM: Might be nice to have the option. What is the
impact on performance? Can this be switched on and off on a already formatted
yaffs chip without harming integrity?
USE_NANDECC, what is recommended to use, the MTD NAND or the one from yaffs?
This is what this switch is about, right?
USE_WRONGECC: I guess this switch was integrated to confuse me completly. :-)
Yaffs can't be used on a USB to Smart Media converter anyway? So when we
reformat a card / chip, the order does not matter anymore? What is the
history behind it. Does this matter anymore if we switch USE_NANDECC on?
