mkyaffs "formats" the NAND for yaffs and optionally installs an image
file.
To format a NAND for yaffs, all you need to do is to erase all the
blocks (except bad blocks). Thus, if the NAND is known to be erased then
there is no need to run mkyaffs.

Subject: [Yaffs] mkyaffs
Hi,
how to use in correct mode the utility mkyaffs?
I write mkyaffs /dev/mtd8.
Can I mount YAFFS on NAND without use mkyaffs?
Thanks
