Sounds like an excellent idea.

Subject: [Yaffs] YAFFS vs YAFFS2 future

Hi YAFFSers

I'd like to float an idea and see what sort of reaction it causes.

At present, both the YAFFS and YAFFS2 code bases are being enhanced.
This causes duplication of work and increases the chances of clerical
error etc.

I'd like to suggest that at some time in the future, eg, say, end of
this year, YAFFS becomes dormant and the YAFFS2 codebase become the only
codebase that continues.

The YAFFS2 codebase still supports the YAFFS1 data layout with a
backward compatability mode, so no functionality should be lost.

Thoughts??
