Just to add a bit of detail; Martin is from a project which has
implemented a JVM in hardware (currently on an FPGA): http://www.jopdesign.com/
which allows embedded systems implemented entirely in java. So to get
YAFFS on the nand flash on his board he needs to re-write it in java.
