Wookey and I have just spent the afternoon looking at Samosa support on
Balloon 3. There were a few gotchas in the the FPGA's VHDL which were
stopping it working, most notably that the Samosa pins were connected to
the Wishbone master module for some reason. They're disconnected now,
but I believe that nothing's currently using Wishbone so it's a problem
we can solve later on if required. The minor version number of the FPGA
is now 02.
The bus seems to work OK talking to the Toby Churchill hardware we have
here. I've modified bootldr so that the memory timing for nCS4 is a
little slower: the original timing was too fast for the Minipug displays
so we were getting unreliable results from them. It's still
theoretically too fast but seems to work in a cursory test. The minipug
kernel module isn't yet happy but Wookey's going to look into that.
The modified bootldr and VHDL are checked into svn.
