I try the latest cvs and it still has more bugs. Is there a known good
reference source for it?

The latest I'm getting is: 

    block 2684 is in state 9 after gc. should be erased.
    Block struck out
    Block 2684 retired


and it just spits these things out with the block number incrementing.
