[Balloon] Davicom USB issues

Re the Davicom USB issues; what kernel version is being used? Is it a
2.6.21 kernel on the balloon? There's been a patch to eliminate
trailing garbage since then, though I doubt it's the source of the
problems:

If someone can confirm the kernel version in use (and does the remote
end have to be Windows or will Linux cause issues too?) then I'll see
if I can reproduce locally - presumably any large amount of traffic
will cause it to fall over or see packet loss?
